THANKS TO OUR NEPHEW DAVE BAILEY...

Ginnie, Sparky and I are in our old home town.. New London, Ohio. We are in our RV and staying out at the New London Reservoir Campground. We love staying out there with the beautiful lake, trees and all. The only downfall is, we have no form of Internet service out there and have to pack up the laptop and take it to one of the kids or grandkids to use it. Seeing how we are on the road seven, or more months a year... we live by our laptop.. our lives depend on it.

Well, this trip is different. Thanks to our Computer Guru Nephew Dave Bailey, we have exclusive super fast WiFi right in our RV for our stay!!! We are the only ones in the entire park with this new system. It is so nice to be able to pay our bills, read the newspaper back home in Michigan, or from our winter quarters in Texas, email letters and pictures, plan our next trip, etc. right from the comfort of our RV!!!

THANK YOU DAVE... YOU HAVE MADE YOUR AUNT GINNIE AND I TWO HAPPY CAMPERS!!!!

FIRST TIME MEETING ELEANOR

Great Grandma Ginnie and I had a wonderful day yesterday... we got to meet and hold our newest great granddaughter Eleanor for the first time!

We are staying at a campground in Columbus, Ohio. Eleanor's dad and mom (Michael and Emily) drove down from Akron and another of our granddaughters.. Abbey, who lives in Columbus came out to visit us. She brought her cute beagle dog Bayley with her. Sparky and Bayley were sure happy to see each other.

It was a beautiful day. Great Grandma Ginnie fixed a nice picnic style supper and we all ate out on the picnic table. It was so nice to be with some of our family again.

This morning we will be on the road again... heading up to New London, Ohio for ten days or so, to see more family and friends. We are sure looking forward to that!

WE HAVE BEEN SO BLESSED

I was so blessed on July 24, 1953 when Ginnie and I were married. We then, were both blessed with the births of our two beautiful daughters Lynette and Laurie. They married two wonderful young men. Lyn to Dan Phillips and Laurie to Mike Jones. The Phillips's have blessed us with two wonderful grandsons... Brian and Craig. The Jones's have blessed us with four wonderful granddaughters... Amy, Sara, Emily and Abbey. Then, between Amy & Kelly, Sara & Geoff, Emily & Michael they have blessed us with six great grandchildren!
Here is a picture of the three gals that started this all.. from left to right..

A NICE TIME WITH BARRY AND DARLA

As I mentioned in a previous post, while in Rock Hill, SC we wanted to visit our niece Darla and her husband Barry, who lived only a few miles from where we were staying. Well... we did that yesterday evening. We had not seen them for several years and had never seen their home.

They have a beautiful home with a beautiful wooded back yard. It is easy to see why they are so happy there.

Barry and Darla look just great! I think they are getting younger looking and we are getting older looking! We are happy we took the "Short Cut" LOL, from Texas to Michigan.. going through South Carolina.

We are now looking forward to getting to Ohio on Friday and seeing more of the family.

EBENEZER PARK ROCK HILL, SC

We are in Rock Hill, SC at Ebenezer Park Campgrounds. We got in here late yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. We had never been here before, so had only planned to just stay overnight... in fact I was not even going to unhitch from the truck. We were going to head for Wytheville, VA early in the morning for a three day stay. Well... how quickly things can change! The sites were beautiful. We had full hookup and FREE, at our site WIRELESS INTERNET!! With our senior discount, it was a whopping $10 a day! So...We are here THREE days and ONE day at Wytheville!

If you are RV'ers and you get near Rock Hill, SC you just must stop here. You sure won't be sorry.

Another plus is, our niece Darla Bailey Center and her husband Barry live in Fort Mill, just minutes from our campground. We are visiting them tomorrow afternoon and evening. It has been several years since we have seen them and are looking forward to the visit.

GRANDPA AND GRANDMA BRAGGING RIGHTS

I guess I will exercise these rights and do a little bragging about our youngest grandson, Craig Phillips. After spending four years at Ohio Northern University at Ada, Ohio getting his degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years at The School of Mines at Rapid City, South Dakota getting his Master's, he has accepted an excellent offer and on April 27, 2009 will be starting his career with Stanley Consultants at their home office in Muscatine, Iowa. They are a well know and well respected international engineering consulting firm.

Congratulations Craig... your grandma and I are very proud of you and all your accomplishments! We wish you the very best!

I must say, Ginnie and I have been blessed... we have six grand children and all have excelled in their careers and accomplishments. We are very proud of them all. Now we have six great grand children who will one day be making their places in life.

WHAT HAVE I DONE????

I think I have created a monster... two of them in fact. With being on Facebook and now having created a Blog... it is almost a full time job!!! Oh well, as they say... this will hopefully keep me out of trouble and my 74 year old mind sharp! We (Ginnie and I) do enjoy our computers. With our family scattered all over the country, the emails, the videos and the photos make it seem we are not so far apart.

Here I go!

Well... here I go... my first attempt at blogging. I guess you might call this a "Test Blog", as I am not real sure how this is going to work, or what is going to happen when I click on the post button??? Well... here goes.........

Aiken, SC

Ginnie, Sparky and I are still at the Pine Acres RV Park in Aiken, SC. We got in here last Monday. We came in from an eight day stay in Savannah, GA. We were visiting our granddaughter Amy, her husband Kelly and their two little girls, Kyleigh and Macy.

Today, we have some exciting ??? things planned, like doing the laundry, washing the RV windows, etc.! :-( Anyway, when we get our chores done we will probably take a ride out to Clark Hill Lake to check the area out were we used boat when I was working here in 1977 and 1978. This will be fun and exciting! :-)
